So&#8230; I picked this up cheap on eBay thinking it was a screenplay and didn&#8217;t realize until I received it that it is actually the stage play.</p>
<p>Anyway, there&#8217;s some interesting history attached to this script, enough so that rather than toss it on my shelf for dust collecting, I figured I&#8217;d scan it and share it here for those interested.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s from the estate of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Herron">Mark Herron</a>, best known as the fourth husband of Judy Garland, and has his personal handwriting and notes written in pencil on several pages. This version was for the <a href="http://www.ibdb.com/production.php?id=2576">1956-57 revival of Major Barbara</a> directed by <em>the</em> <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Laughton">Charles Laughton</a>. And as legend goes, Herron was supposedly dropped from the cast when he declined Laughton’s invitation to become his bedmate for the duration of the play&#8217;s run.</p>
<p>The description from IBDB says that this play is supposed to have four acts, but this script only has two. Not sure why&#8230;</p>
